Odoo Gold Partner in Southeast Asia
Brainvire is an Odoo Gold Partner with a regional office at 31 Cantonment Road, Singapore, opened in 2020. Odoo publishes a separate fiscal localization for each country, so we scope Southeast Asia country by country rather than as one market.
We implement, integrate, customize and support Odoo for businesses operating in Southeast Asia, from one country on one ledger to a group that files in several.
31 Cantonment Road, Singapore 089747. It is our only office in the region; work elsewhere in Southeast Asia runs from it.
Odoo ships fiscal localizations per country, not per region. Six Southeast Asian countries have one: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Small implementations 8 to 12 weeks. Mid-market 12 to 24 weeks. Multi-country rollouts 6 to 12 months. A version upgrade on its own, 3 to 8 weeks.
/ Before you scope anything
What makes an Odoo rollout across Southeast Asia different?
Four things a regional scope must answer that a single-country one does not.
Six packages, not one region
Odoo publishes a fiscal localization per country. Six in Southeast Asia have one. Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Brunei are not on Odoo’s list, so those entities are configured by hand on a standard core.
Every mandate is its own module
Malaysia submits to MyInvois, Indonesia produces e-Faktur XML for Coretax and Vietnam files through SInvoice. There is no single regional switch, and the module list differs per country.
Payroll covers two SEA countries
Odoo 18 documents payroll localizations for 24 countries. Two are in Southeast Asia: Malaysia and Indonesia. Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines are not on that list, and Odoo documents the Employment Hero connector for Singapore and Malaysia.
Regional channels are a build
Odoo’s Amazon Connector lists North American and European marketplaces only. Selling on Shopee or Lazada is integration work rather than a setting, and we have built exactly that before.

/ The work itself
What does Brainvire configure, country by country, in Southeast Asia?
Odoo ships a package per country. The value is in what goes on top.
| Where you file | What Odoo 18 ships | What we set up on top |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore | PayNow QR codes on invoices, and the Employment Hero payroll connector | The PayNow proxy on the bank journal, tax and reporting for how you file, and payroll requirements mapped against standard Odoo before anything is customized |
| Malaysia | Malaysia - Accounting, its reports, UBL PINT export and the MyInvois e-invoicing modules | The company Tax ID, SST and TTx numbers, and a MyInvois connection registered per legal entity, POS included |
| Indonesia | Indonesian - Accounting, e-Faktur and the Coretax XML module | NPWP and NIK on contacts, transaction codes on invoices, and e-Faktur product and unit-of-measure codes across the catalog |
| Vietnam | Vietnam - Accounting and the SInvoice e-invoicing module | The SInvoice account, invoice template, invoice symbol and digital certificate, so invoices issue from Odoo rather than beside it |
| Thailand | Thailand - Accounting, its reports, withholding taxes and PromptPay QR codes | Headquarters and branch numbers on contacts, tax-invoice printing, and the VAT and PND exports your accountant actually files |
| Philippines | Philippines - Accounting, with VAT, exempt, zero-rated and withholding taxes carrying ATC codes | The BIR 2307 and SLSP exports, and the handover Odoo documents as external: the file it produces is converted to BIR DAT or PDF outside Odoo |
| Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei | Nothing, and we say so up front: none of them appears in Odoo’s list of localization modules | A chart of accounts, taxes and reports built to your statutory filing, kept as configuration on a standard core so future upgrades still land |
| A regional group on one database | Multi-company, with a different fiscal localization on each company and Inter-Company Transactions between them | The inter-company rules configured company by company, one mergeable group chart of accounts, and consolidation read from the ledger instead of a workbook |
| More than one currency | Scheduled rate updates and a nominated Exchange Difference journal | Revaluation posting where your finance team expects it, so gain and loss reconcile against the group position |
| Regional marketplaces | The Amazon Connector, whose supported marketplaces are North American and European only | Shopee, Lazada and 3PL integrations built as connectors, so channel orders and stock move on the same ledger as everything else |
Module names, taxes and report exports follow the Odoo 18 documentation for the six Southeast Asian entries in Odoo’s fiscal localization list. Odoo’s built-in Peppol registration is open to European countries only, so a Southeast Asian mandate is met by its own country module, not by Peppol.
/ Scope of work
What can a business in Southeast Asia ask us to do?
Four places most engagements in the region start.
Odoo Accounting, localized per country
The country package installed and verified per company, taxes mapped onto what you file today, bank feeds, and a parallel close before cut-over.
Commerce and regional channels
Storefront, point of sale and marketplace connectors reading one product catalog and one stock position, so a channel order does not need a spreadsheet.
Moving off the system you have
Opening balances first, agreed history second, cut-over on a period boundary. From older ERPs and from accounting-only systems.
Managed services once you are live
Version upgrades, new entities, a new country added to the group, and day-to-day support from people who know how your database was built.
/ Delivery
How does an Odoo project run across Southeast Asia?
Workshops and go-live support run on Singapore hours, with the build staffed from the wider Odoo practice.
Discovery
We list the countries you file in, the legal entities in each, the e-invoicing mandate that applies and what history comes across.
Design
Account mapping, the localization per company, the e-invoicing route per country and the integration list are agreed in writing before anything is built.
Build and data
Configuration, integrations and any customization, then opening balances loaded into a test company your finance team can actually use.
Go-live and hypercare
Finance runs a period in both systems until the trial balances agree, then cut-over lands on a period boundary. We stay through the first close.

Also in the region: an Odoo platform for a Singapore-headquartered lifestyle and fashion group trading in eight countries, among them Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia, with a multi-country architecture and Shopee, Lazada and Amazon integrations; and an Odoo program for an oil and gas group operating in Singapore, Dubai, the USA and Canada. We opened the Singapore office in 2020, announced Odoo Gold Partnership covering Singapore in 2021 and extended Odoo Gold Partner status across APAC in 2024.
/ Due diligence
How should you choose an Odoo partner in Southeast Asia?
Seven things worth checking on any shortlist, and where we stand.
| What to check | Why it matters | Where Brainvire stands |
|---|---|---|
| Partner status | Odoo grades partners on certified staff and delivered work | Odoo Gold Partner. Gold Partnership covering Singapore was announced in 2021 and extended across APAC in 2024 |
| Someone in the region | Workshops and go-live support are easier in your own time zone | An office at 31 Cantonment Road, Singapore 089747, opened in 2020 |
| Country-by-country experience | A partner who treats the region as one market will miss a mandate | Published Odoo work in Singapore, plus a multi-country Odoo platform run across Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia |
| Proof you can read | A named, published case beats a logo wall | Three named Singapore engagements, each with the work and the outcome written down |
| Who does the work after go-live | Support that ends at go-live is not support | A managed services practice with named owners, upgrades and new-entity work |
| Where the system runs | Hosting choice decides data residency and your upgrade path | Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or infrastructure you control; the UVJC platform runs on Odoo.sh |
| Depth behind the local team | Small local shops stall when the scope grows past the first country | 1,000+ Brainers and 10+ global offices behind the Singapore engagement, listed on our Global Presence page |
Hosting is documented by Odoo as Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or on-premise. Operating in one country rather than several? Singapore has its own Odoo Gold Partner page and Odoo implementation page, and Thailand has an Odoo page of its own. If the license question comes first, read Odoo licensing explained.
/ Questions we are asked in the region
Odoo in Southeast Asia, answered.
Is Brainvire an Odoo Gold Partner in Southeast Asia?
Yes. Brainvire is an Odoo Gold Partner. It announced Odoo Gold Partnership covering Singapore in 2021 and extended Gold Partner status across the APAC region in 2024. Engagements in Southeast Asia are run from the Singapore office at 31 Cantonment Road, with the wider Odoo practice and its certified consultants behind the regional team.
Where is Brainvire's office in Southeast Asia?
At 31 Cantonment Road, Singapore 089747, opened in 2020 and listed on our Global Presence page. Singapore is our only office in the region, so work in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines is run from there, with the Mumbai and Ahmedabad delivery centers behind it. We claim no other office in the region.
Which Southeast Asian countries does Odoo publish a fiscal localization for?
Six. The list of localization modules in the Odoo 18 documentation includes Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and each of the six has its own documentation page. Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Brunei are not on that list, so an entity in one of those countries is configured rather than installed.
What happens in a Southeast Asian country Odoo has no localization for?
It is built as configuration rather than downloaded. We set up a chart of accounts, taxes, tax reports and invoice layouts that match what the entity actually files, and keep the work in configuration and data rather than custom code so the database still upgrades cleanly. That is planned in week one, not discovered in week ten.
How does Odoo handle e-invoicing in Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam?
Through a different module in each country. Malaysia submits invoices to MyInvois using the Malaysia E-invoicing modules, including a point of sale variant. Indonesia generates e-Faktur XML for the Coretax system. Vietnam integrates with SInvoice, the Viettel platform. Odoo's own Peppol registration is open to European countries only, so it is not the route here.
Does Odoo run payroll in Singapore or Malaysia?
In Malaysia yes, in Singapore no. Malaysia is one of the 24 countries on Odoo 18's list of payroll localizations, and Indonesia is the other Southeast Asian entry; Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines are absent from it. For Singapore and Malaysia, Odoo also documents the Employment Hero connector, where payroll administration stays with the provider and the payslip journal entries post into Odoo. Putting Singapore CPF and IRAS rules inside Odoo is a scoped build.
Can Odoo run entities in several Southeast Asian countries on one database?
Yes. Odoo supports several companies on one database, and each company can carry its own fiscal localization, so a Malaysian entity keeps its MyInvois setup while a Vietnamese one keeps SInvoice. Intercompany rules handle transactions between them, and group reporting comes off the same ledger instead of a consolidation workbook.
Can Odoo connect to Shopee and Lazada?
Not out of the box. The marketplaces listed for Odoo's Amazon Connector are North American and European, so regional channels are integration work rather than a setting. We have built it before: a Singapore-headquartered lifestyle group trading in eight countries has Shopee, Lazada and Amazon orders syncing back into Odoo, with inventory managed from the same system.
How long does an Odoo implementation take in Southeast Asia?
Small implementations run 8 to 12 weeks, mid-market programs 12 to 24 weeks and multi-country rollouts 6 to 12 months. A version upgrade on its own runs 3 to 8 weeks. The number of countries you file in, the number of legal entities in each and how much history you migrate move that range more than anything else.
We only operate in Singapore. Which page should we read?
The Singapore section rather than this one. Brainvire Singapore has its own Odoo Gold Partner page and its own Odoo implementation page, both written for a single-country scope, plus a Singapore case-study hub. This page is for groups that file in more than one Southeast Asian country. Thailand has a section of its own as well.
