This marks the fourth major collaboration between the Fortune 500 energy giant and the digital transformation leader, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional fuel retail and modern fintech. By integrating a seamless voucher lifecycle into the existing Puma PRIS app and Odoo backend, the duo is redefining how individuals and B2B clients purchase, share, and redeem energy.
At the heart of this project is a strategic pivot from currency-based gift cards to volume-based vouchers. Unlike traditional systems tied to a fixed fiat amount, these vouchers are pegged directly to fuel volume—such as 2L, 5L, or 10L of Petrol or Diesel. This industry-first approach serves as a powerful hedge against fuel price volatility for the consumer.
When a user buys ten liters today, they own ten liters regardless of future price fluctuations at the pump. This innovative software development strategy ensures that the value remains in the hands of the customer, offering a level of transparency and security previously unseen in the region.
The technical architecture is a masterclass in complex systems integration. Brainvire used high-performance middleware built with Node.js and robust API development to connect the mobile frontend to a customized Odoo backend. To ensure the system remains resilient in remote regions with unstable internet, the team implemented a "Bulk Transaction Ingestion" framework.
This allows Point-of-Sale devices to store data locally during outages and sync with MongoDB and Redis once connectivity is restored, ensuring that no transaction is ever lost. Furthermore, the system employs short-lived JSON Web Tokens for heightened security, ensuring that every session is protected.

While most vouchers simply expire, this system introduces a six-month grace period where users can renew expired coupons by simply paying the current price difference, striking a fair balance between corporate efficiency and consumer value.
From UI/UX and wireframe support to rigorous testing and QA, Brainvire’s end-to-end involvement ensures that the Odoo POS interface is intuitive for station attendants while the PRIS app remains a powerful tool for the modern driver.
