This well-established SME, which serves chefs, retailers, and food lovers, selected Brainvire to ensure a seamless and robust launch of its new B2B and B2C e-commerce storefront on the Shopify Plus platform. This collaboration will significantly enhance the online shopping experience for its diverse customer base across North America.

The company's new Shopify Plus store is designed to serve both its wholesale (B2B) and individual consumer (B2C) markets, a project that comes with its own set of complexities. Brainvire's team was brought in to provide expert Shopify Plus development services, including comprehensive B2B ecommerce solutions and site-wide optimization. The project’s core focus is a complete technical audit and refinement of the platform to ensure stability, functionality, and optimal performance.

The key challenge was that the client's system was fragmented, with separate Shopify stores and custom applications built in Go Language. Brainvire’s approach involved consolidating these into a single, cohesive storefront by migrating away from the custom apps and leveraging Shopify's native B2B functionality. This strategic approach streamlined the client's operations and established a more scalable and efficient platform.

Brainvire’s specific enhancements include the configuration of Shopify's native B2B features to manage complex wholesale pricing and price lists. This involved extracting pricing data from custom metafields, re-importing it to align with appropriate price lists, and assigning these catalogs to specific company accounts.

Additionally, using the Shopify Checkout Blocks app, Brainvire is implementing sophisticated B2B shipping logic to ensure correct rates are applied, resolving an issue where wholesale orders were incorrectly showing free shipping. Simultaneously, they are doing away with two-store redirection on checkout and enabling Shopify's native local pickup feature for B2C customers.

To improve merchandising and content management, Brainvire developed dynamic “New Arrivals” collections using custom metafields to set an expiration date, with products automatically exiting the collection once the date passes.

Conditional logic was also implemented to dynamically switch product tabs between "Ingredients" for food items and "Materials" for non-food items, improving content accuracy and user experience.

The team has also performed a thorough review of the code and setup. Eventually, Brainvire will conduct UI/UX and mobile optimization to ensure full responsiveness and a fast, intuitive shopping journey for all users. Furthermore, to support a modern, self-service experience, Brainvire is integrating the SmartBot AI chatbot for multilingual customer support, along with a website Knowledge Base app to build a robust FAQ section.
