Odoo ERP Implementation to Centralize Multiple Inventory Activities at the Food Bank

In this fast-paced world where people aim to take society ahead with their innovation, some people are working relentlessly to give back to society to maintain the social balance and give everyone an equal chance to thrive. Food Bank Singapore is one of them.

Our client, Food Bank Singapore, is a well-known food distribution company established in Singapore. After more than a decade of watching the food market, they saw the necessity of starting a food donation business because of the rising food prices and food waste.

They were the first group in Singapore to centrally coordinate all food donations. The organization collects and re-distributes food donations from new donors and provides it to the members.

More than 370 organizations of all sizes are part of the Food Bank's network, which provides food to more than 100,000 families and more than 300,000 people. And to maintain consistency in their supplies and operations, they needed an intuitive inventory management system.

“Food Bank started this initiative with a kind motive. While working on this project, we feel that we are helping them to ensure that their service reaches the maximum number of people and that no one in Singapore goes to bed hungry, "said Chintan Shah, CEO, Brainvire.

Managing and supplying food to the beneficiaries is not an easy task. One can imagine how perfect inventory management is required here. Brainvire suggested implementing Odoo ERP to
centralize the food bank’s multiple inventory operations and manage donors and beneficiaries on the same platform.

Integrating Odoo ERP with the system will provide an end-to-end solution that covers the donation key-in process, stock counting/stock-taking process, and delivery process.

A donor management system was considered essential by the client to keep track of the food donors. This system will include donor information, food donations, and monetary donations, such as the donor's profile, food donations, and monetary donations. We're putting this system in place so that donors can have a 360-degree view of the dashboard to see their donations.

Accounting Management System-Odoo Accounting to manage all monetary donations, IRAS tax file of donors; payment of different local purchasers; and income & expenditure of different programs.

To calculate and keep a tab on the overall stock and categorize them as per type and region, we took the Odoo mobile application under use. Volunteers will also be utilizing mobile applications for inventory processes.

Lastly, as an organization, they conduct many different types of programs related to food bundles, monthly rations, vending machines, etc. There was a need for program management to manage them all.
