A Singapore Food Bank Cuts the Manual Work. Odoo ERP Runs Every Operation.

An Odoo ERP for Food Rescue.
The Food Bank rescues surplus food from farms, businesses, restaurants, and customers and distributes it to people in need through member beneficiaries. Brainvire centralized its operations on Odoo ERP, consolidating inventory, beneficiary approvals, donor and donation tracking, and inactive-beneficiary alerts, with a mobile app for stock key-in, stocktake, and picking.

An emergency food bank in Singapore was set up after more than a decade of study into the industry's rising costs and waste. The organization collects donated food that would otherwise be thrown out from farms, businesses, restaurants, and customers, then distributes it to people in need through a network of member beneficiaries.
The client wanted to centralize food bank operations, so Brainvire used Odoo ERP to consolidate every inventory activity and keep track of beneficiaries and their orders, donors, and donation types. The system handles donor profiles, financial donations, and food donations, and a volunteer can key in stock, run a stocktake, and handle picking orders from a mobile device.

Codes, mapped
The food bank's SKU list differed from real SKUs, so the team mapped real SKUs to food-bank SKUs and auto-generated a barcode for each one.
Stock, in hand
Volunteers needed to work from the floor, so Odoo's mobile app was reshaped to the food bank's workflow for stock key-in, stocktake, and delivery.
Receipts, scanned
About a hundred bank boxes sit across Singapore, so a unique QR code that only a security guard can scan generates each incoming shipment.
Donors, managed
Beneficiary and donor data had to stay current, so one system routes requested quantities to the warehouse and holds information on donors and their beneficiaries.

Product SKU mapping
The SKU list used by the food bank differed significantly from the real SKUs. The team mapped real SKUs to food-bank-determined SKUs and supplied a method that automatically generates a barcode for each SKU.
Stock key-in by volunteers
The client wanted to give its volunteers the ability to run stock key-in and stocktake. The team reshaped Odoo's default mobile app to the food bank's workflow, delivering a complete solution for donation key-in, stock counting, and delivery.
Incoming shipment QR code
The food bank needed a system that scans QR codes to produce incoming shipments. Around a hundred bank boxes sit across Singapore, so the team devised a unique QR code that only the security guard can scan.
Beneficiary and donor data
The organization needed to maintain information for recipients and donors. All requested quantities route to the warehouse and available quantities to the system, and one system now handles data on donors and their beneficiaries.
