The product is an Android mobile application offering go-to-patient care coordination solution, the key requirement of every health care profession. The application helps the healthcare professional building a bridge between biller, Medical Assistants, and patients. The application is fortified with a good amount of essential and trending features such as Biller Communication, faster insurance, direct contact to billers, easy patient tracking, Group Sharing of important reports & documents, Patient handoff, OCR functionality, patient wise-color tagging system, access to RUV totals and CPT Code to doctors, doctors’ views, and much more.

Dealing with large amount of ICD codes

ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes are the standard codes of multiple diseases used by doctors. ICD and CPT codes together counted around 90,000 in numbers and the number was really huge in terms of simplifying and speeding data handling process.

Brainvire’s development team studied the complete structure of codes and came to a conclusion of distributing data handling mechanism between two separate data bases. Brainvire’s data experts crafted an apt database structure and the normalization system resulting in seamless ICD codes integration.

The whole application is pre-filled with a huge amount of ICD codes, plus as the application reach widens, more patient and doctor’s data would come in. In order to make the system working smoothly, the perfect synchronization mechanism was needed to be implemented.

Dealing with large amount of ICD codes

ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes are the standard codes of multiple diseases used by doctors. ICD and CPT codes together counted around 90,000 in numbers and the number was really huge in terms of simplifying and speeding data handling process.

OCR Integration resulted in increased app size

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is a sticker representation of patient’s scanned and parsed information. The application size became too heavy after integration of this functionality which could lead towards fewer downloads of the app that client never wanted to happen. The client clearly asked for an application which is lighter in memory size so is to avoid memory issues.

To overcome the large app size issue, Brainvire’s experienced developers utilized CPU based Split Apk concept and developed a whole mobile application around it. As a result, the app size significantly reduced.

The application contains a variety of data operation such as sorting, filtering by tags, hospitals, and users. Along with that, the application was equipped with diverse features such as swipe gestures, Group Sharing, patient hand-off, color tagging and so on. Huge functionalities and operations in one app were a big crucial part and that was affecting application performance.

Brainvire’s development team first planned everything in detail, followed by the intense development of the project and finally an optimization of programming codes. As a result, all the features were incorporated perfectly in one single application with faster data operations.
