About Client

Sports Traveler is a leading sports tourism company in the United States. The company specializes in event tickets, hotel rooms, and VIP travel packages across the world. It has been featured in prestigious publications like the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, among several others. The client reached out to Brainvire to migrate their website to Magento 2 and integrate several advanced features.

The client wanted to migrate their website from Magento 1 to Magento 2. In addition to this, they wanted retail eCommerce solutions for their services, including event ticket booking, travel services, travel insurance, discounted airfare, and getting traveler reviews.

Migration of Data

There was loads of data on the previous website due to multiple categories, sub-categories, products, customers, orders, and payment models.

Our Magento 2 developers wrote a script to migrate all this data smoothly. It ensured that the company didn’t lose any crucial data, and the migration process was systematic and timely. It created a ground for building advanced custom product options. Once this was completed, our developers integrated multi-language support for English, Spanish and Portuguese to gauge the potential of these markets.

Complex Third-Party Integrations

Some tickets included in the package offered by the client were from third-party ticket providers. Therefore, it was a challenge to integrate and map them with the eCommerce website. Secondly, there was no live chat function to provide a quick solution to client queries.

We integrated the DeveloperTicket API on the website to fetch data from the third party and pass booking details to the 3rd party system. We integrated Help Desk, a third-party live chat with the eCommerce website, by incorporating JAVA code. The integrations also included FedEx shipping gateway and PayTrace payment gateway integration to improve the user experience further.

The Layout and Content of Sub-category Pages

The Sports Traveler website had multiple sub-category pages in the Magento 1 based site. Their different layout and managing it all from HTML code added to the roadblocks. Additionally, the client managed custom tab options from the category pages’ Admin panel with different blocks assigned.

We migrated the data and content of the sub-category pages to give them a look like the previous website, as per the client’s requirements. Further, we created fields to set event dates and locations from the Admin panel. Besides this, we developed customized tab options to empower the client to add, edit or remove any tab from the panel. The client can now assign different blocks to a tab so that the content displays in various tabs.

Partial Payment

The client provided two payment options on their website- full and partial payment. In the event of partial payment, a client would have to pay the remaining amount later on. Due to this, there were chances of confusion in this approach.

We implemented the auto capturing model wherein the customers will provide their credit card details and the date they will automatically get billed. On the specified date, the amount will automatically get deducted from their account. Both the client and the company will get notified of this transaction.

Effortless Migration of Data
All the data from the previous website was migrated from Magento 1 to Magento 2 within time. Thus, it ensured that the client didn’t lose any crucial information due to this lengthy migration process.
Consistent Layout and Content in the New Website
The layout and content of all the sub-category pages were the same as the previous website to ensure consistency and brand recognition. It helped the client manage custom tabs from the Admin panel and edit them as per need.
Clarity in Partial Payment Transactions
The auto-deduction of the outstanding amount minimized confusion and made it easier for the client to track the remaining amount of their clients. Thus, it led to increased convenience not just for the company but for their clients as well.
Easy Live Chat Process
The third-party tickets get fetched from the third-party ticket providers. It enabled the customers to chat with the admin using the chat implementation, facilitating ease of use and access for Sports Traveler and their clients.
