About

Banana Republic, a prestigious lifestyle brand under the global GAP umbrella, offers a diverse range of clothing and accessories. They are recognized for their extensive product lines, catering to men, women, children, infants, and sports enthusiasts. Additionally, this renowned brand offers an array of accessories, footwear, fragrances, and home decor items. As their business continued to thrive and the world rapidly embraced the digital age, they sought to advance by streamlining their business operations and connect with a Microsoft partner to achieve this goal.

Project Highlights

The client wanted to integrate their e-commerce website into the Microsoft Dynamics ERP by a Middleware system. Their e-commerce website is based on Shopify, and integration with the ERP system would automate most of their essential business operations, such as order and inventory management, enabling fast and on-time deliveries. The system would sync orders from the Banana Republic website to Microsoft Dynamics ERP. Brainvire’s team added an additional security layer and provided real-time insights into the entire process.

The Challenges

  • Manual Processes:
Old traditional manual processes of e-commerce websites.
  • A Lag in Order Fulfillment
Insufficient time to record inventory and continuous new orders lead to a lag in order fulfillment.
  • Manual Data Updation:
Inventory and original/discounted product prices are updated manually in the backend.
  • Tracking Nearest Warehouse:
Nearest store/warehouse tracking for economical and timely deliveries.

Result

  • Automated Business Operations

Implementing a Middleware system to integrate the client’s e-commerce website with Microsoft Dynamics ERP allowed them to automate their business processes. It increased work efficiency and boosted productivity.
  • Enhanced Time and Inventory Management

The Middleware integration with Carriyo enabled converting order status from 'Draft' to 'Reserved' once a day at a pre-specified time. It allowed the warehouse team enough time to update the inventory status on the system and ensure efficient order fulfillment while receiving continuous orders on the website.
  • Real-Time Data Updation

Real-time updation of products’ original and discounted prices and inventory is essential for smooth order fulfillment. The E-commerce website and MS Dynamics ERP system integration via Middleware ensure it runs smoothly.
  • Reduced Delivery Time and Cost

Identifying the nearest store/warehouse with sufficient inventory resulted in fast order fulfillment and reduced expenses. It also saved time and effort for the delivery partners to fulfill an order. All of it contributed to enhancing customer satisfaction.
