About Client

The client is the USA based, well-known online coupon portal. The portal is all about bridging a gap between the shopping stores and the users. It provides a variety of coupon codes of various ecommerce stores and the printable coupons for the physical stores. Since its inception before 12 years, the client is now one of the biggest coupon platforms in the USA with 50,000+ stores and 158,000+ offers to date. After Brainvire customized and enhanced its web application, the client came to Brainvire to construct its chrome extension.

About Product

Brainvire successfully created and integrated chrome extension for the coupon platform, which works as a coupon provider tool when a user browses a merchant’s website. For example, if a user has downloaded this extension in the browser and tries to explore XYZ.com website, the extension will fetch all the offers available for that website in a list format in a small window and display them to the user. Plus, it automatically applies the coupons on cart’s page. Moreover, if the specific website is not registered with the extension, it doesn’t display its offers at all. Each offer is displayed as per the given terms and conditions such as cashback offers, warranty offers, coupon codes etc. which can vary vendor to vendor. To avail the cashback, the extension is integrated with the e-wallet system. The users can get the cash back in e-wallet after the successful purchase of the product.

By applying some technical features and well-engineered logic, finally, Brainvire’s efficient developers crafted a chrome extension which automatically turns on when the user opens merchant’s website. Brainvire’s QA professionals tested this chrome extension on all Windows versions to ensure bug-free implementation of chrome extension.

There can be the situation where a merchant’s website doesn’t accept the coupon code. In case of such invalid coupon code scenario, a robust error handling mechanism is needed with a proper feedback system.

For the cases where invalid coupon codes which merchant’s website doesn’t accept, there opens a small feedback where the client provides detailed information of the experience related to the invalid codes or in case extension is not working.

Brainvire’s development team designed a well-architected module that integrates with the merchant website’s API and fetches all the offer data. This well-integrated system keeps the data and applies the all the relevant coupon codes at the shopping cart’s page.

Cashback system Integration with extension

For coupons which offer cashback, there was a complication of how to integrate the cashback system with the extension. There needed a robust system which can act as a bridge between users and the website.

As per the client’s requirements, an integration with e-wallet system was highly required for cashbacks. Cashback systems require the user to login into their system, a post which extension automatically identifies the user and allow them to activate the cash back in the extension. The system was developed in a manner that whenever a registered user purchases something from a merchant’s website which involves cash-back, the cash-back comes directly to the e-wallet (after a certain period of time) which may vary vendor to vendor.
