Quote2Cart functionality is one of the ways Brain Gavin receive orders for their products. These orders come from the leads generated from the company’s websites where interested parties add their requirements in the form of quotations in the cart.
These quotes can be about any aspect of diamond jewelry, including the diamond's cut, metal, setting, and other characteristics. These leads or quotes are saved in Odoo and then turned into orders. The order can be processed via the website until Brian Gavin Diamonds approves the quote in the backend.
The second method through which they receive orders is directly through the website. Once orders are received through the website, they pass through different stages of the order management process.
The order management process can be tracked in Odoo in real-time to maintain timely deliveries and service. The order goes through different stages such as (CAD, Purchase, Manufacturing, Assembly, Quality Control, Photography, etc.
Job orders are one way through which they club orders on the basis of similarity. Similarities can be the type of metal, the gemstone, the cut, or the color. For each customized order they receive, they club orders in the Odoo backend. For example, if they have multiple orders for 18-carat gold, then group such manufacturing orders. This way they can understand how much metal they would require to complete those orders.
Waste management is also an integral part of their orders. While manufacturing orders, it often happens that the designers may not use all the metal that was purchased.
